We wondered why this hat style was called a "laplander" and where exactly "Lapland" was. Turns out, it's most northerly portion of the Scandinavian peninsula (where it's super cold, hence the need for warm hats). Okay, so we couldn't actually trace the hat exactly to Lapland (but they do have other cool hats), and "Laplander" is actually a pejorative exonym (the name other people give to you), so we'll just go with "cold place = warm hats" and move on.
This Soft Kitty Laplander is a grey knit hat with embroidered kitty face and ears. The dark grey, tabby stripes continue on to the back. Hat is 9 1/2" flat across (unstretched). Earflaps are 14" from top of head to bottom of flap. The hat has grey, 10 1/2" long, Pippi-Longstocking-style, yarn braids with tassels from each earflap. (These can be easily snipped and removed if they're not your style. Our one problem with laplanders is that they can get itchy, but not this one. It's lined with hot pink, super-soft polyfleece for extra warmth.
